I’ve finally managed to put together a video from the National Championships. It’s split into two parts to reflect each day of competition (and so that I could have files small enough to send over my wimpy and temperamental internet connection). Let me know what you think!
This first video covers the First Division and Solo & Ensemble competitions. The First Division is for field bands established no more than two years ago. The second band you’ll see in the video (with the blue uniforms) had only been around for five months before the competition! Though they didn’t win (taking a respectable second place), everyone was extremely impressed.
This video covers the second day, featuring the Premiere Division (bands older than two years) competition. It was hard to pick which bands to include in the video. Each one had something to offer and it was an incredible day of creativity and competition. I had the opportunity to see the first band you’ll see in the video in rehearsal just a few days before the competition. Though the rehearsal was pretty rough, they really rose to the occasion and put on a great performance in the competition.
